Attractions
As well as its 15 miles of sandy beaches and many large public parks, Miami is packed full of historical landmarks such as The Miami Freedom Tower, an important landmark built in 1924. Tourist attractions include the Gold Coast Railroad Museum which includes a 1928 Pullman sleeping car redesigned for President Franklin Roosevelt, and the Miami Art Museum. For the kids, The Miami Museum of Science has a number of child-friendly exhibits and the Miami Children's Museum, with its wide variety of interactive exhibits, is a must.
Animal lovers can pay a visit to Parrot Jungle and Monkey Jungle, as well as Miami MetroZoo, which has a wide variety of animals from Asia, Australia and Africa and is generally thought to be one of the finest wild animal parks in the country. The Miami Seaquarium provides a tropical outdoor aquarium experience with a number of killer whales, dolphins, sea lions, porpoises and manatees.
Amongst the many other tourist attractions around Miami, the Miami Everglades National Park is a must-see. Made up of 1.5 million acres of swamps, saw-grass prairies and sub-tropical jungles, the park is home to a number of rare and endangered species, including the American Crocodile, the Florida Panther and the West Indian Manatee. Air boat tours are available to view the numerous alligators up close, or visitors can choose to walk, camp and canoe in the park.

South Beach
Miami South Beach Area (SoBe) – or simply South Beach – is Miami’s trendy locale with year-round warm days and nights that make it a near 24-hour experience. One of Miami's most exciting and lively areas, South Beach is full of art galleries, diners, Art Deco architecture, glorious beaches and top nightclubs.
Other Miami districts include Central Miami, home to some of Miami's richest residents and with many excellent golf courses, and Coconut Grove District is a fashionable area full of celebrities. The North Miami Beach District has several beaches and parks, Little Havana is home to a thriving community of Cubans, and nearby Coral Gables has wide boulevards and stunning buildings in Spanish and Italian architectural styles. Biscayne Bay separates Miami from its barrier island and there are numerous small islands to explore. The Port of Miami is a major cruise departure point.
